On 6 March 2007, the book Cuentos afrocubanos (Patakines) will be presented by editor-author Radamés Molina Montes, at the Café Sentido exhibit in Ràdio Ohm. The 'Patakines' are a collection of narratives, based in the original African oral tradition. They have been transcribed into Spanish by way of sacred Afro-Cuban liturgical rituals. The stories collected here bring us closer to the roots of the Orishas (deities of the Afro-Cuban tradition) and relay stories common in these cultures. Fed by the syncretism inherent in Cuban culture, many of these stories have been enriched by elements of Christian religion and other myths stemming from the diverse cultures that coexist in Cuba.

What is Café Sentido?

Café Sentido is a roving exhibit space, which proposes to create environments for the showing of original artwork, the presentation of new authors and new views on old themes, and which includes events where artists, researchers, writers and others can come together to present or debate their visions of the world and of the human experience in general.

The Café Sentido project is a collaborative effort between Casavaria Publishing, its online news service Sentido.tv and other publishers and creative partners, currently focused in Barcelona, Spain. It is also open to individuals, artists and writers, and other organizations that would like to contribute to specific events or exhibits, and works with different venues for various projects.
